Consumables: #2

To continue, let us venture into the forbidden fridge.

The first image is what I have called, “How Do You Make Dinner?”

I’m beginning to believe the condensed milk IS for inducing vomit.

The last piece is called, “Could Be Cabbage Now”.

The following is called rusty-ass-greens-bagged-for-over-more-weeks-than-anyone-can-remember.

In other words, throw this shit away.

So…I decided to venture no further than a man’s kitchen to figure out what they actually consume. They are a rare species and have really large brains, so I was more curious than ever to understand and document what they consume!

This first one is called, “Turkey Dogs”. Examine the following:

It is obvious why this is essential to man. Ok, moving on.

The next I like to call, “Man’s Unfortunate Cupboard”. Examine the following.

So, you make the muffins with the olive oil, then bake it in a vat of peanut butter, then you drink some condensed milk?

The question is, is the condensed milk there to wash it all down or to help induce vomiting?

The second part being “yellow squares”.

So…seeing as how this blog post was super typical, I mean who doesn’t know how to picture frozen yellow squares? Freakin’ easy. It’s not confusing in the least bit and makes total sense. It’s like hitting yourself with your own car or eating dog food. It just makes sense.

I decided to put this blog post into two parts. Two literal parts. The first being “frozen”.

Retro: #2

…inside of Barely Worn there seemed to be some fun retroness as well.

I loved the colors of inside of the store. Everything looked super saturated and kind of musty. This nasty mustardy-greenish color looked great with the aqua floor. Definitely a piece someone would try and bring back into style.

…and the Beatles…

I loved this picture of the Beatles – it’s like a weird psychedelic remembrance of the European’s. I love the super opaque coloring and dual tones.

So, my take on retro this week was a conglomeration of findings/sitings at the local Barely Worn store in the Hawthorne District.

This bike was parked outside the store as I entered. I really liked the way the wheel was slanted and how it took up the most of space in the frame. I think the old school, funk bike helmet was a nice addition. I think now it is retro/cool to ride bikes – so I’ve heard and seen Birkenstock wearing hipsters tell me.

Next, was the selection of vinyls…

I don’t really think I have to say much more…Billy Idol? Crazy 8? I think these stink of retro and possibly meth.

Reflections: #2

Aside from banana’s found in the kitchen, I had found some largish garlic to be my subject. For color purposes, I decided to get rid of any bright/highly saturated color because the garlic is so stark and blandish looking. The garlic was much harder to reflect back into the mirror because once I stepped back it became harder to see on account of it’s smallness. I used a shallow depth of field to help focus only on the garlic.

Where Am I?
